STEM
Our school has played host to a variety of visitors as part of the STEM module in Science. They gave talks to the pupils on their educational background, a typical day in their occupation and the pupils participated in question and answer sessions with the speakers.
On Tuesday 7th May, Mrs Genevieve Morrison visited Year 10 to talk about her occupation as a veterinary nurse.

On Friday 3rd June, Mr Colm Reavey, Higher Scientific Officer with the Northern Ireland Environment Agency talked about his educational background and his career.

Pupils were able to try on the clothes and use the equipment necessary in Mr Reavey's occupation.
On Friday 10th June Mr Michael Sheppard visited to talk to the pupils about photography, he was accompanied by his business partner Stuart McChesney. The pupils had the opportunity to be the 'models' and 'photographers!'
On 17th June Mr Tristan Stocking a Tree Surgeon from Clarke Cunningham Tree Maintenance Ltd. and Mrs Dawn Stocking, an Environmental Educational Officer from the YMCA Newcastle spoke to our Year 10 students.
